We have mentioned the plight of Dartford and Crayford Sea Cadets on a number of occasions recently; here is another chance to help them.  Every week Galaxy Hot Chocolate will be donating five cash awards to local community groups and charities across the UK and Ireland.  At the end of each week until 23 February, four applicants will receive an award of £300.  They will also be awarding a People’s Choice entry with £300 (the organisation that gains the most support in any given week).  The voting link can be found at galaxyhotchocolate.com

St Mary’s Church, Stone are giving people the chance to ‘sign a roof tile’, which will become a permanent part of the fabric of their lovely and ancient church.  The first opportunity for this will be offered at their Christmas Market on Saturday 29 November between 11am – 2pm. The market, to be held at Stone St Mary’s school, Hayes Road, will be opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Dartford and children from the school choir will be singing at 12 noon. Everyone is invited.

A theft has been reported from a green Land Rover in Broad Road, Swanscombe.  Two white males aged between 15-19 years were seen, both of slim build.  Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Council are requesting anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference XY/041092/14.

Emergency road closure of Highcross Road, Southfleet from 1 December for up to four days to allow ditching works..

Early warning of a temporary speed restriction from 40mph to 20mph on Princes Road, between Park Road and Lowfield Street from 2 February 2015 for up to two weeks to enable installation of two large signs and removal of another.

Three Dartford FC youngsters, Harvey Brinkley, Michael Fenn and Joe Newman, have been selected for the Kent U16 squad to play Sussex on Sunday.  Joe Sylvester has also been put on standby for this game.
