Dartford Borough Council

Planning application: 14/01568/SCREEN – Request for a Screening opinion for a single storey building with an gross external area of 574.4sqm, which will include a chapel, crematorium and administrative space, a visitor car park (approximately 5100sqm in area), upgrading of the existing internal road and the existing vehicular access off Green Street, an area for burial plots, a garden of remembrance and an area managed for nature conservation interest – Mabledon Hospital Site, Gore Road, Darenth.

Bean Parish Council

Roadworks: Announcement Affecting Bean Interchange, Ebbsfleet Interchange and London bound A2 – Carriageway resurfacing at three locations on the A2, near Dartford.  This will involve work on the London bound carriageway, the exit slip road at Bean Interchange and the entry slip road at Ebbsfleet Interchange.  The opportunity will be taken to install road markings, road studs and detector loops.  The work will increase safety for road users and provide a smoother carriageway route along the A2 and mitigate the need for emergency repairs.  Work will be carried out to commence 1 hour after the shops close each night, apart from on Sundays when work will commence at 8pm.  Work will finish at 6am on weekends and 5am during the week. Work will take place each night from Monday 10 November through to Sunday 7 December.  There will be no work taking place on Friday 28 November and Saturday 29 November due to ”BLACK FRIDAY”, which is one of Bluewaters busiest two nights, weather permitting.  Further information here

Friday 14 November – Mabledon Hospital Site Consultation Event at Waller Park Pavilion.  Clarification of this matter was issued by Darenth Parish Council on 4 November ‘Following queries received by the webmaster, the Parish Council would like to make clear that NO formal Planning Application for the proposed Crematorium has been submitted to Dartford Borough Council and as a result the Parish Council has not been invited to comment on the proposal’  The Public Exhibition at Waller Park Pavilion on Friday 14 November 2014 is a ‘Pre-Application Event’ commissioned  by Dignity to provide residents with an opportunity to pass comments or discuss any areas of concern prior to the submission of the formal Application.  The Parish Council urges residents to take advantage of the opportunity Dignity has arranged as the Parish Council is already aware of a number of concerns that have been expressed to Members of the Parish Council and the Borough Councillors for Bean & Darenth’.  Please note that the Screening 14/01568/SCREEN in the DBC section above, is shown as being received on 7 November.

Darenth’s Service of Remembrance will take place this Sunday at St Margaret of Antioch Church, Darenth Hill commencing at 10.30.  Following the Service in the Church, wreaths will be laid at the Memorial outside the lych-gate and at the RAF Memorial on Darenth Hill.
