I attended the consultation event at the Civic Centre on Friday.  If you have not been to one of these consultations before, it could be of interest but having followed developments reasonably closely, I didn’t really learn too much new.

However, the one item which was of interest was the proposed access to the site.  The plan at the moment is to build a dedicated approach road from the A2 direct to the site.  This will run to the east of Swanscombe, roughly following the HS1 rail line.  It was confirmed that there will be no access to the site from Greenhithe via London Road (apart from emergency services).  It was not clear if the approach road will be built before construction begins on the site.  If it was, it would mean that construction traffic would not have to access the site via Swanscombe or Greenhithe.
