On 7 November 2013, the Revival Arts Exhibition premiered at a pop-up gallery in The Bizniz Point in Home Gardens. The event was organised by the Dartford Creative project, and highlighted many of the area’s foremost artists accross a number of media, including paint, graphic design, photography, sculpture, installations, illustrations, and sound.
From an artistic viewpoint, the exhibition was a huge success, and brought together many artists and art lovers who subsequently went on to form the Dartford Arts Network, a collective of over 60 artists in Dartford who are now planning and collaborating on projects to raise awareness of the area’s artists, and bring art visibly back into Dartford’s town centre.
Nick Buckley also attended the exhibition’s premiere, and wrote this piece for his SoShall blog. http://soshall.net/2013/11/20/dartford-revival-gallery/
The Dartford Creative project of 2013 also brought a series of popular and diverse activities into the Town Centre, which were staged around One Bell Corner for the duration of the Autumn, leading up to Christmas.
One Year On, and the Dartford Creative team are once again working in Dartford in the run-up to the Festive Season (see our earlier post which refers). There is currently an exhibition in the Peter Blake Gallery showing the works of the Dartford Creative artists, which will be open until 26 November.
