Jeremy Kite, Leader of Dartford Borough Council, was interviewed on BBC Radio Kent and in the interview it was revealed that Dartford have launched a campaign to revive the High Street. The interview commences at around 1hr 6minutes into the programme. Hopefully in due course, DBC will put details of this campaign on their website.
By-election update – Dartford Conservatives have announced that Rosanna Currans will be their candidate in Brent Ward and Calvin McLean will be standing in Littlebrook Ward. Dartford Labour have announced that Mark Maddison will be their candidate in Brent Ward.

This year’s spectacular fireworks display in Dartford’s Central Park will be held on Saturday 1 November. This annual event, organised and run by Dartford Lions Club, kicks off at 5pm with the bonfire being lit at 7.15pm and the fireworks starting at 8pm. Advance ticket prices are £4 adult and £2 child. An Invitation to Remember – The Worshipful the Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Avtar Sandhu MBE, is inviting Dartford’s residents to wear their poppy with pride and join him at this year’s Remembrance Day Parade and Service. Poppies will be available from sellers around the Borough from Saturday 25 October with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion. Dartford’s Remembrance Day Service takes place on Sunday 9 November, starting at 10.45am with a procession from Dartford Borough Museum to the War Memorial – further details from dartford.gov.uk
Update on progress at Northfleet West Substation development site via Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Council. The detailed plans for the first 230 homes at Ebbsfleet Green, as it will be called, will be submitted ‘very soon’. When completed the community will include 950 homes and a primary school, open space, community hall, local shop, pub and hotel and related leisure uses.
