The Citizens Advice service offers practical, up-to-date information and advice on a wide range of topics, including; debt, benefits, housing, legal, discrimination, employment, immigration, consumer and other problems.  Advice is available to everyone regardless of race, gender, sexuality, age, nationality, disability or religion.  Advice is independent, impartial, confidential and free.

The usual process for obtaining advice from Dartford CAB is to call in to one of the drop in sessions at the main Dartford office or at one of the outreach locations.  These all operate on a first-come, first-served basis and you will normally be given a short Gateway Assessment that might be sufficient to answer your questions.  The information used in Gateways is available online.

For more complicated queries an appointment may be booked for a longer interview. In some cases you may be directed to specialist advice, for example, the organisations listed on the Links page.  Alternatively you can telephone 01322 472 979 and, again, be given straightforward information over the phone or an appointment if appropriate. The telephone service is available from 9.30 until 12.30 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Because of funding arrangements, longer appointments can only be booked for those who live, work or study in Dartford.
