This week Gareth Johnson MP attended the official opening of The Leigh UTC, Kent’s first University Technical College at The Bridge in Dartford.  Leigh-UTC-OpeningThe school for 14 to 19-year-olds was opened by Richard Noble, who held the land speed record between 1983 and 1997 and is masterminding a British bid to surpass 1000mph on land.  More of Mr Johnson’s views about The Leigh UTC can be seen at garethjohnsondartford.co.uk

13-19 October is the 8th National Get Online Week, inspiring people across the UK to get online and do more with digital skills.  If you know someone who could benefit from learning some online skills – whether that’s starting at the very beginning or simply learning a bit more about how they could use the internet to make life easier – take them along to a local Get Online Week event for some friendly help.  Get Online WeekAccording to getonlineweek.com,  the libraries in the Borough are taking part along with Spark It in Swanscombe and Broadreach Training & Services and the Healthy Living Centre in Dartford.
