English Schools Cross Country Championships – Pupils from Dartford Grammar School have been competing today in the preliminary round of this year’s competition.  The Juniors finished 5th overall with Luc Piromalli the best placed DGS runner, finishing in 13th place.  In the Intermediate section, the team finished 3rd. Individually, Henry James Cowie finished 2nd, Lucas Taylor Costin finishing 4th and they progress to the Regional Final

Britain’s Best Breakfast runs from 17-19 October and is a national fundraising campaign to raise money to help support more unpaid carers and give them a break from their caring role.  The idea is to invite your friends and family to join you for breakfast and raise money for Carers Trust.  Today, 1 in 10 of the population are carers, nearly 7 million people. So even if you aren’t a carer yourself, it’s likely you know someone who needs the support of Carers Trust.  If anyone knows of any groups or businesses in the Borough that are holding events in support of this campaign, please get in touch and we will add them to our Events Calendar.

Dartford Football Club are looking for a voluntary driver; if you can spare a few hours on a Wednesday, have a clean driving licence and aged between 25 to 70, they would like to hear from you – dartfordfconline.com

The Dartford FC U10 Blue Team are looking for players born between 1 September 2004 and 31 August 2005.  Details about trials, which will be held near the end of October, will be announced in due course. Further information available from dartfordfconline.com

On Saturday 11 October Dartford Valley Rugby Club’s 1st XV face Brockleians in a home fixture at Leigh Academy, Green Street Green Road with the kick off at 3pm.  This will coincide with the clubs VIP day and the Mayor of Dartford and Gareth Johnson MP (Honorary President) will be present.  Weather permitting there will be a bouncy castle for the kids.  Admission is free so why not come along and support the town.

Tuesday 14 October – Meeting of Dartford Borough Council’s Deed, Trust and Obligations Committee.  The agenda includes the Annual Reports of Kidd Legacy Trustees; Children’s Playing Field and Recreation Ground, Savoy Road Trustees and Hesketh Park Trustees.
