A TV production company are currently in production of a new BBC documentary series and are looking to meet young unemployed people, aged between 18-30 , in the Dartford area who are looking to try a new career and challenge.  They would particularly like to contact local community or youth groups where we they would most likely be able to speak to people who might want to be involved.

The series is a trial aimed at match-making a group of young employers with assistants of a similar age.  The series will introduce young unemployed people to a career they would never previously have considered.  The unemployed applicants will road test key elements of the job with a potential employer for a two week period before deciding if it’s a role they would like to pursue as a future career.

The purpose of the trial is for both the person trying out – and the person they are working for – to get an insight into each other’s worlds and to learn lessons that will hopefully have a lasting impact on them both.  This could involve both parties experiencing elements of each other’s lives which could see them both taking on new challenges which may be out of their comfort zone.  Those applying to try out the jobs will not know the identity of the person they may be working for, unless they make it to the final interview stage, where they will meet them in person and get the opportunity to ask any questions they feel relevant.
